The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is building a new terminal to better meet the needs of the traveling public. The current terminal was built in 1959, making it almost 60 years old.

This is the first time Cafe Du Monde will operate a restaurant in an airport. Although Shake Shack operates over 130 locations worldwide, this is the chain's first Louisiana location. MSY also joins the ranks of only five airport locations including New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Kuwait International Airport (KWI) and Dubai International Airport (DXB).

North Terminal Project Reaches New High

A major project milestone was achieved with the topping out of the New MSY. The Airport joined Mayor Landrieu, New Orleans officials, and the 750 construction workers on the project to celebrate the occasion.
Construction of the new $993.7 million terminal at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport began in January 2016. Nearly two years into the project, the new terminal is approximately 60% complete and slated to open February 2019.
